Fromeway Free House and Restaurant

The Local Area

Situated on the A362 from Midsomer Norton to Frome, The Fromeway is ideally placed to explore the many areas of interest nearby. Within easy reach of Bristol International Airport, Radstock enables visitors to experience the beauty of the Mendip Hills and beyond. Now a pleasant residential area, Radstock was once the centre of the Somerset coalfields and although the mining has disappeared, its history is remembered in the excellent local museum.

The Heritage city of Bath is only a few miles away and the Cotswolds just a little further. The nearby beautiful Cathedral city of Wells and mystical Glastonbury, bordering on the famous Somerset levels, are worth a visit. Bristol, with its dockland regeneration, the rebuilt S.S Great Britain and Brunel's famous suspension bridge is also an interesting place to spend the day.

The Mendip Hills are beautiful, there is bird watching at Chew Valley Lake and the Kennet and Avon canal offers endless level walking and cycling. Longleat, with its exciting Safari park is within easy reach and the Bath and West showground is also close.

There are several golf courses nearby and pony trekking. At Midsomer Norton there is an indoor swimming pool, squash courts and tennis courts.
